WHAT WE BELIEVE

THE HOLY SCRIPTURES. The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God, consisting of 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. This plenary, verbally inspired Word of God is inerrant and infallible in the original manuscripts. It is the supreme authority and final rule in life and faith.

THE GODHEAD. There is only one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All three Persons are the same in substance, equal in power and glory.

THE PERSON AND WORK OF CHRIST. Jesus the eternal Son of God became man, without ceasing to be God, when conceived by the Spirit in Mary's womb to reveal God and redeem sinful man. Ascended to Heaven, He is now at the right hand of God as our High Priest -- Representative; Intercessor; Advocate.

THE PERSON AND WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. The Spirit is a Person who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He is God's Agent in regeneration: Baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling them, and sealing them unto the day of redemption. He guides believers into all

TOTAL DEPRAVITY OF MAN. Man was created in the image and after the likeness of God, he sinned, and thereby not only incurred physical death, but spiritual death – separation from God. All humans are born with a sinful nature at enmity against God and become sinners in thought, word, and deed.

SALVATION. Jesus died as the sacrifice for our sins. All who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood and righteousness. The body of our crucified Lord rose from the dead. He ascended into Heaven and lives there for us as High Priest -- the only Mediator between God and man.

THE ETERNAL SECCURITY AND ASSURANCE OF BELIEVERS. The saved should rejoice in a personal confidence of a present salvation which rests in the manifestation of the indwelling Christ and veracity of the Word of God. All the redeemed are kept by God’s power and are secure in Christ forever.

THE SECOND ADVENT OF CHRIST. We believe in the blessed hope, the personal, imminent, pre-tribulational, pre-millennial coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones, and in His subsequent return to earth with His saints to establish His Millennial Kingdom.

THE NATURE OF THE BELIEVER. Every saved person possesses two natures with provision made for the victory of the new nature over the old through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. In this life all claims to the eradication of the old nature are unscriptural.

SEPARATION. Every person should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon our Savior and Lord. This includes separation from all religious apostasy, worldly and sinful pleasures, and associations as commanded by God.

MISSIONS. We believe in the obligation of the saved to witness by life and word the truths of the Holy Scriptures and to seek to proclaim the Gospel to all humankind.

THE PERSONALITY OF SATAN. Satan is a person, the author of sin, and the cause of the Fall. He is the open and declared enemy of God and man, and he shall be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire.

SANCTIFICATION. Sanctification is in three aspects: (1) God sets us apart at the time of our personal acceptance of Jesus as Lord and Savior; (2) We continually experience sanctification as we yield ourselves to God; (3) We will be sanctified in the future when we are made complete in Christ.

THE ETERNAL STATE. We believe in the bodily resurrection of man, the saved to judgment and eternal life, and the unsaved to judgment and eternal punishment. Christian souls at death are present with their Lord awaiting reward; unbelieving souls at death are in Hell awaiting the lake of fire.

THE UNIVERSAL CHURCH. We believe that the Church, which is the body of and the espoused bride of Christ, is a spiritual organism made up of all born again persons of this present age.

THE LOCAL CHURCH. We believe in the independence and autonomy of the local church and that no religious hierarchy has any Scriptural grounds to run the affairs of any local church. We believe in the separation of Church and state with each having definite and distinct spheres of responsibility.

THE ORDINANCE OF BAPTISM. Baptism is the immersion of the believer in water to show his faith and identity with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. It is the symbol and demonstration of the conversion experience.

THE ORDINANCE OF THE LORD’S SUPPER. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of the atoning death of Christ. Only born again, baptized believers are to participate in it. The elements (unleavened bread and grape juice) are symbols of Christ’s body and blood and have no merits in themselves.
